Strategies to Grow Your Google Plus Engagement

1. Connect with Influencers. You can use www.Klout.com, or a similar site, to search for influential users in your “community”. For example, if you are wanting to connect with a community of artists, search Klout users for drawing, painting, artwork, etc. Once you have a list of influential users, search within these users for influencers with google plus accounts. Then circle them on google plus. 
2. Engage with Influencers. Comment and engage with your new community.  Comments like “cute” or “awesome” are always appreciated but they won’t get you noticed by other users. Comment on links, photos, or a status update with genuine statements. Try to encourage conversation, this will get you noticed and in turn encourage viewers to view your profile. Also, answer questions posted by other users. This will help you appear as a specialist in whatever category you are discussing.
3. Be Consistent. As in any social media platform it is important to be consistent with posting. Always post important or interesting content and stick with a schedule that works well for you. At the very minimum try to share something to your profile once a week.
4. Use Communities. Create Google Plus Communities and join other communities. Google Communities create a place for people with similar interests to share content with each other. Join communities with people who have similar interests, and try creating your own. The same suggestions apply for engaging in communities as above, be consistent, encourage conversation, and balance how often you share, with how often you comment or like other posts.
