The Evolution of Women’s Workplace Clothes

Women in the workforce is an interesting topic anytime, but we find this particular facet to be especially so: the varying and changing styles of dress since women began working in offices. Starting in 1899, Mashable walks through the years (pictures included) that is evidence of both the changing clothing styles as well as changing attitudes about working women. (We are thankful women no longer have to wear hoop skirts!) Enjoy this walk through history: http://mashable.com/2014/10/22/womens-workwear-20th-century/?utm_cid=mash-com-fb-bus-link.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! In the spirit of the candy-centric holiday, enjoy this clip from Crest toothpaste that shows the extremes of what kids with an unlimited candy supply can result in. (Hint: it is not peaceful and calm). It is a smart move on the part of the toothpaste titan to capitalize on a sugar laden holiday by assuring you that their product will save your kids teeth from sugar’s destructive properties. Either way, enjoy the chaos of this video: http://www.adweek.com/news/advertising-branding/ad-day-crest-gets-kids-all-jacked-candy-cute-and-crazy-halloween-ad-161066.

Hidden Logo Messages

It might be easy to dismiss a logo as nothing more than a display of a company’s name. But a logo is so much more than that; it is the central go-to of a company’s identity and often their brand idea carries over into their logo. These 40 logos, compiled by the British company Oomph, have “hidden messages” that take the idea of a logo one step further and embed the mission statements and ideals of the company within clever artwork.
