Pick Up Your Camera!
March,07 2018
Contributed by: Taylor Burkhalter Is your company producing video content for your social media channels? No? Then your content probably sucks, fam. People stopped reading things in 2015. Touché, Don. I reckon it’s time I step up my vlog game. Look, we are pathetic. Our average attention span is 8 seconds, and it’s getting worse. Simple text isn’t going to keep your audience interested, so you need to step it up. The way people consume content has shifted to “hand-fed mode.” They aren’t going to work for it, so it’s your job to feed them. The trick is to…
Don’t Worry, This Isn’t Another Tide Ad….
February,05 2018
Contributed by Ryan Nelson Well the big game has come and gone and with it were a brand new batch of commercials. Often these spots are over-the-top, big budget, big celebrity, and are meant to spark “did you see that….” types of conversations. Every year, brands compete to see who will have the stand-out spot and gain the most traction. Nowadays most of that is measured via social media engagement, followers, or hashtags. It makes me smile when my daughter makes comments, such as, “you know EVERYONE” or “I wish I could…
The Power of Having (Google) Reviews
January,23 2018
Contributed by Alyssa Peiser When I am looking to purchase a product, find a new hairdresser or dentist, one of the first things I do is check the reviews – what are other consumers saying their experience has been. I tend to read them all – the highs and the lows to get a really good sense for the product/service. I tend to take people’s reviews pretty honestly – there is little they gain from fudging a review (whether negatively or positively). And if a business has no reviews, I am less likely overall to purchase. How many people look…
My Daughter, The Marketing Expert
January,04 2018
Contributed by Ryan Nelson A little over a year ago my life changed in the best way possible. My daughter was born on Thanksgiving Day 2016 and it has been a whirlwind ever since. Being a new parent, you have to learn a lot of new skills very quickly. Trying to appease a baby that is upset but can’t yet communicate her needs leads to some creative problem solving. You have to think on your feet. What works one day will not the next. I have found over the last year that some of my marketing strategy experience and well…
