Growing your Business Blog

Your business blog should be much more of a focus than you may think. Instead of thinking of your business blog as a supporting feature of your business, start thinking of your blog on a greater scale. Begin thinking of your blog as being on its own, and having its own supporting features.

It starts with an idea.

Create posts based on great ideas that you believe readers will like, read, and share with their social media networks. Make readers want to come back for more. How do you know what type of content will be most pleasing to your readership? Use your blog analytics to view all previous blog posts. Specifically look at which posts have the highest number of views. What type of content are these top posts based on? How did you market these posts differently? What type of writing style were these posts developed with? Are there any differences in Title selections within the top posts? How were these posts formated? Once you analyze what works best, you can begin to create a posting strategy.

How to funnel new people to your blog post:

With every post you make for your blog, take the time to include any desired key words. Also, include these key words in the labels category. This will help your blog show up in search engines more often. Your blog posts can also show up in search results much further down the road. This will help consistently bring traffic to your site. If your blog post is a big hit, it is very likely to be shared by readers. This will in turn bring new people to your post. After you submit your post, share and promote it on your social media accounts. You can also send emails promoting posts.

Keep them coming back.

Be consistent in your posting schedule. People are most likely to subscribe to your blog feed if it is expected that they can rely on a consistent schedule. Aim to post at least once a week. If you are already doing that, aim to post more that once a week.
